John 3:16-17

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

John 3:16 is a perfect place to start to understand Grace. In this verse of Scripture, John tells us that “God so loved the world…” This means that He loved and still loves the people of this world―the people of previous generations, people in generations to come, and those of us in this current generation. He loves all of us. But why? Trust me. It’s not based on anything that we do. God knows our state. We’re sinful. Yes, we are! That’s our nature. God is Love. That’s His nature. His Love for His children knows no bounds. It’s unconditional. It’s a supernatural Love that transcends our understanding. It’s unsearchable. It is a pure Love. We cannot do a thing to earn it or deserve it. There’s nothing that can be compared to it on earth. God freely lavishes His Love on us. Romans 5:8 reminds us of how God demonstrated His great Love for us while we were still in sin. He did this by sending His Son to die for us. His Love covers a multitude of our sins.

God’s Amazing Love!
